Welcome to Sanctuary!
Sanctuary was created in 1998 as a dream of owner Kris Carpenter. Born and raised in Billings, Kris traveled and gathered ideas and treatments to create a sanctuary to care for women. "I believe women are the care givers of the world and I wanted to create a place to care for them." Everything Sanctuary does is to personify our mission statement, "We take care of you".

We hire nice people. Our team truly enjoys working together and serving our guests.

Our relationship with the Billings community is very important to us. At Sanctuary, we made a decision to offer our support through donations, rather than spend dollars in traditional advertising. All team members participate in charitable outreach volunteerism as part of their employment. Leading by example, Kris is currently serving on the MSUB Local Executive Board, as a trustee of the Yellowstone Art Museum and is a past board member of the YWCA.

Our ongoing partnership with Aveda supports our commitment to contributing to a healthier environment and ethical business practices. Aveda is a pioneer in environmental consciousness and the first beauty company manufacturing with 100% wind power. At Sanctuary, we pride ourselves on our daily practices to recycle and reduce our waste. We recycle everything used in our color and cutting services!

We have recently completed an exciting remodel of our entire salon. The layout of our salon allows us to utilize a separate area for our HeadMapping® color services and we love our new ceiling suspension Freestyle hair dryers. HeadMapping® is a functional segregation of the head that allows salons to create, replicate, formulate, communicate, mix, price and schedule colors accurately. Our color team went through an extensive training to certify Sanctuary as a HeadMapping® salon.

Education is always in motion at Sanctuary. We train with the best educators in the country. Our team has traveled to New York, London, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Denver, and Santa Barbara, to learn the newest techniques and trends.
